Fresh Start

Well, some of you may be wondering where Paul and I have gone the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it may not be as exciting for you as it has been for us. We've been re-inventing our lifestyle. After catching a couple fitness forums from our good friend and chiropractor Kyle - we decided we wanted more from our lives. We wanted to be healthier, thrifty, smarter, more eco-friendly. It was time to stop letting life take us for a ride and to start driving ourselves.

So we have been evaluating all aspects of our lifestyle, which which actually has just two factors: time management and budget. With good time management we can have time to exercise, clean up the kitchen, make healthy meals, read and be educated & make time for friends and hobbies. And with watching our money we can save up for the future with still leaving room for things we want to do.

After 3 weeks of checking our budget (which was not entirely accurate before) and 1.5 weeks of trying to form healthier habits - we feel pretty good and at least in control of our choices.

Some fun byproducts so far:

+ learned that green energy is actually cheaper than the electricity we're getting now! Check out Green Mountain Energy (beat 13.8 cents/kwh TXU)
+ 1/2 cup cup of chocolate ice cream is only 120 cal - which is less than a glass of raspberry lemonade (thank you www.calorie-counter.com) also note a glass of wine has less calories than juice :)
+ No one will kick you out at Barnes and Noble before you finish reading the entire book (okay we haven't actually done that one yet)
+ Playing monopoly over dinner make you feel a lot smarter than watching the Simpsons over dinner without taking away the fun! Especially if you win :)
